Despite a difficult economic situation and negative prognosis in the financial sphere, both in the world and in Kazakhstan, during the accounting year the Non- Commercial Organization Saby Charitable Foundation did not reduced but considerably increased the scope of its activity.
The work was performed in various directions within the framework of approved projects.

Sport Health Achievements Project

This project holds a most unique position in activities of the Foundation, and its purpose is to provide children from orphanages and boarding-schools with an opportunity to engage in sports activities in full because sport improves physical health and strengthens fortitude, self-discipline, and drives to achievement of set tasks. For the purpose of implementation of the programme, the Saby Foundation has developed a plan for construction of modern, technically equipped sports complexes for teenagers, various functional playgrounds for small children, as well as repair and reconstruction of existing sports facilities located in orphanages of Kazakhstan.

One of such objects, in particular, a gym hall of the Regional Orphanage No 1 (Baganashil), which was an old unexploited premise, has been reconstructed completely. Nowadays it is an excellent, high and light hall with special rubber covering and marking equipped with sports facilities and inventory for sport games.
On the analogy of the project, a capital repair has been performed in a gym hall of the boarding-school No 1 for orphan children of Kyzylorda city.

For the accounting period the Saby Charitable Foundation performed considerable work in various directions of activity.

Decent Life for Disabled Persons Project

This social-cultural project is one of the most important projects of the Foundation. It was started in Spring 2008 and it was nominally divided into several stages. The final objective of the project was organization of a car fleet containing special transport vehicles for disabled persons, including children that used wheelchairs.

The project has started from the Art Nomad Exhibition organized in June 2008 in Almaty by the Saby Foundation jointly with the Art Exhibitions Management Office. The goal was not only to show foreign guests the pictorial art of Kazakhstan and but, first of all, to attract attention of the society to problems of disabled persons. The Exhibition was visited by Chairman of Christies Auction House lord David Linley and works of Kazakh artists were estimated highly by independent experts. All those facts, together with the organizers enthusiasm have promoted realization of the next (basic and the most significant) project stage Charitable Auction in London.

Over a period of almost six year the Saby Foundation has realized a lot of major social, medical and educational projects. The year 2007 was the most productive one.

At the beginning of the year we developed new projects, the basic direction of which was not any particular act but large-scale and purposeful activities. At that we, as always, were followed our basic principles:

- Health and physical development of children;
- Spirituality and accessibility of education.

During the accounting period we carried out successfully gradual realization of such projects with the assistance of our regular and new sponsors. When implementing our goals we did not depart from our principles: efficiency, concreteness and transparency of our activities.
